After a classical formation and a degree in Latin Palaeography, Maurizio spent most of his working life as a programmer and a software engineer.
In the late 80's, as Systems Librarian at Villa I Tatti - the Harvard University Center for Italian Renaissance Studies, he was the IT advisor for the computerisation of the library card catalogue and in the formation of the IRIS Association between several humanistic Florence libraries. He was then responsible for running the Villa I Tatti and Iris IT infrastructure as Systems and Network Administrator.
Since mid 90's, Maurizio was active in the flight simulation gaming field, collaborating with several companies like Lago snc, Leader srl and Aerosoft gmbh and creating innovative add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator™.
Lately, he has been active as a free-lance consultant for projects of different kinds, as long as they are innovative and intellectually challenging.
Hobbist player of the viola da gamba, Maurizio also run VistaMare Musica, a non-profit, ‘virtual’ music publishing house, specialising in Renaissance and Baroque scores.
